Why Build Green?

by Tom Haddon | Oct 6, 2010

Tom Haddon talks about "why building green" makes dollars and sense and why its important for our environment as well. Did you know that housing accounts for more than one-fifth of all the energy used in the United States? And that building codes as related to insulation, weather resistant barriers, and air infiltration have barely changed in 20+ years? The cost of energy is only going to rise. We need to use less for our own well being and the Earth’s.  Haddon Homes decided in 2009 that every home we build will be at a minimum EnergyStar© certified.
